Powerless Work

Working all week with no electricity = limited blogging opportunities :-(

Here's some fun happy pics for a sunny wednesday afternoon!

I don't know if that is a real word, but it's kind of how I would describe my mood the last few days. I haven't really had too much too blog about. I haven't really been in the mood to work out (I toughed it out three days).  I guess it's just a funk, everyone has them, I'll get over it. This quote made me feel like it's ok to be in a BLAH mood sometimes "Everyday might not be a good one, but there is something good in everyday".  Hallelujah!

It's Friday. Thank goodness.  I think some of my blahzee has come from the fact that I have just been pretty bored this week.  I have gotten myself through by looking up pretty wedding venues and then getting frustrated when they don't call/email back. Then I just contact again. I can't wait to start actually seeing some of them! 3 appointments made...lots to go!

Tonight I am going to kick off "Weekend of Irene" with a swirl (or two) with some pretty awesome girls.

Woah blonde short hair?!?

Fun old school pic ;-)
Sad for those of you that are missing it :-( But don't worry. We'll have another swirl night soon!

And I'll send end on birthdays for the week! Hope you had wonderful days! <3

circa Naomi's Wedding. Happy Birthday Nick!

Happy Birthday Sheila!

Only guy in an orange shirt on St. Patty's Day. Happy 30th Birthday Brian!

Have a good weekend! GO AWAY IRENE!

I have an Obsession. Her name is Amy. I love her soups.

I love her burritos (I have this one for lunch today actually).

I love her bunnies (chocolate, cheddar, chocolate chip)...well, minus that one time I thought I bought a recalled box. Everything turned out just fine though.

I can't wait to try the pizza (with rice flour crust), the lasagna, the "taco fiesta" and the new cookies!

I want these shoes...

really really bad. They are unique and so old fashioned. I am in love.

That's all.

Tiny Bottles

Ever since getting engaged I have spent many, many hours on wedding websites.  I just can't help myself. I google everything from colors, to dresses (bridesmaid and for myself), venues to gifts and my favorite, unique favor ideas.  I have so many ideas running around in my head, it is exciting and overwhelming all at the same time.  I know that I do not need to plan every tiny detail at the moment, I have a good amount of time. But I find myself much more enamored with the small details than the big ones right away.  Is that normal?

I love the idea of useful favors.  What is more useful that a tiny bottle of champagne?!? I can't think of much else ;-)

Switching topics (I seem to do that a lot lately):

I am hoping that the rain misses us this evening and I can spend some much wanted time on the deck with a few glasses of wine and some good girl talk!

I plan on spending my evening with this girl (I'm going to steal her from Kevin) and some pinto grigio for me and moscato for her, barefoot of course.

I have something fun I am doing on Sunday....will share more after the fact. But I am REALLY excited! Any guesses?

3 Random Wednesday Thoughts

As I was doing my daily obsession of going through google reader and reading every blog possible my friend Kate @ Olive Juice has the quote "Another Sunrise, Another New Beginning". I love it :-) The sunrise may be my favorite time of the day now!

2. On a sort of connected note I get to see some of my FAM tonight.  Brent and I are going to go see my Dad, Stepmom, and sisters for dinner.  We haven't had a chance to see them since the our big news so I am really excited!!

3. Last night at dinner Jaks decided it was a good idea to be stealth dog, sneak up behind my legs and eat the top of a hamburger bun from my buffalo chicken burgers (which are amazing).  Recipe stolen borrowed often from Julie @ pbfingers.  I tried hard not to laugh but with an entire bun hanging out of his mouth it was nearly impossible.  He held on for dear life, but eventually it got pulled out of his mouth.

This picture is from when he tried to eat my salad...last night looked the same but with a whole wheat hamburger bun.

Purple Shower

This past Saturday was Ashley's Bridal Shower.  Megan, Leah, Wrenn and I worked together to try to plan a shower that she would love! She is getting married 2 months from yesterday and I am SO EXCITED.  She is one of those people who you know found her other half.  Andy is wonderful and they make such a great couple.  I am so happy for them and love them both.

There was great food, yummy sangria, fun ladies and even a game (with prizes)! Here are some snap shots from the shower.  Enjoy :-)

It was a perfect way to spend a Saturday!

I went on vacation and got engaged...

That is a good reason for not blogging for 11 days...right?!?!?

It's been a whirlwind of a week! We started vacation off going on a boat and failing to attempting to wakeboard.  Board sports are not my forte.  I think I will stick to watching next time!

Brent on the otherhand succeeded with flying colors...I think he cheated (can you cheat at wakeboarding?)

On Monday we (Brent and I, and Nicole and Burdell) left for Ocean City. I love the beach! We went to lots of fun restaruants and bars, spent time on the beach, watched the sunrise (more on that later), and went to the White Marlin Open (which is the biggest fishing tourney on the east cooast).

At Fagers the first night

At the Tiki Bar

White Marlin Open with Kara and Nicole

Brent and Kellie at Green Turtle
Sunrise morning was Tuesday...I will preampt it by saying that we had talked about seeing the sunrise for a month, so it was not just a radom wake up at 6 am thing.  Monday night, Brent set his alarm and we headed down to the beach with my camera and a beach towel.  It was an awesome experience.  It was us, the seagulls and the dolphins in the water! There were other people watching as well but we were pretty spread out.

After the sun above the horizon Brent proposed :-) He said many sweet things but those are my own personal secrets! It was perfect and very private, laid back and beautiful.  Just what I would choose.  And he picked the beautiful ring out all by himself!

At about 11 am I looked at him and said OMG, we're getting married! I think it took that long to seem real.

It was a perfect vacation!

On saturday I helped host my BFF's bridal shower...but that deserves a post all its own and will be coming soon :-)

I was one of Colbie's first fans

I just realized that Jason Mraz and Colbie Calliat are going to be at Merriweather in September. I can't go :-(

BUT I thought I would share one of my fave songs ever by them.

Dedicate this one to my best friend ;-) (cheesy? Yes? oh well!)

I have heard a lot of good things about the Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred so on Monday I decided to start it.  30 consecutive days of her workout (along with my mini tri training other days as well).

The main reason I decided I want Jillian to train me (other than the fact that she is intimidating through a television screen) is because I really have zero clue what I am doing when I am lifting weights.  I just sort of fling my arms and legs around and hope something happens.  I am hoping to tone up and learn some moves by working out with Jillian!

Wish me luck! Today is day 3 and I woke up with muscles that I didn't even know I had hurting (in a good way of course).

July in Pictures

What better way to review one of the best months of the year (middle of summer) than through pictures? Especially since I have been HORRIBLE at posting them this months. So here you go.  I hope August has just as many fun pictures to share!

Let's start with our "on-a-whim-beach-weekend":

I think out eyes are both closed in this one, but it shows the amazing table that we had for dinner! And, the fact that sunglasses fix any picture.

Nice photo op boys. That's why we love you so much ;-)

Dancing to the worst band in history.  I don't even remember the name to share.

We got to hang out with some other great girls as well :-)

On to birthday celebrating weekend aka the saturday of birthdays!

Happy Birthday Angie

Cute Picture :-)

Brent and his girls :-)

The night ended with some Kev/Jaks love. Who doesn't love a cute puppy who lets you hold him like a baby??

We also enjoyed a trip to Oriole Country to see this pretty lady!

Then...just for fun pictures...kisses, flabongos, know, normal activities enjoyed in July.

Happy Summer! Did I miss anything??
